FEC Energy and Crops for Energy have been granted Secretary of State Approval to operate the SFR as an authorised list of approved fuels. It is almost two years since we started working on the SFR, which shows just how difficult, time-consuming and involved a process it has been. So, all the more reason to celebrate the fact!

What does this mean? I hear you ask...

The Sustainable Fuel Register (SFR) will provide a mechanism for demonstrating the sustainability credentials for all sorts of non-wood fuels. Among the most exciting of these are biomass pellets and briquettes produced from waste coffee grounds (WCG) by bio-bean. 

The Wood Heat Association and the Renewable Energy Association will be hosting a one-hour webinar on Friday 18 November so participants can gain a better understanding of how SFR works.
